error code 0×85010004 synching windows mobile 5

Even with Exchange Activesync & OMA set up correctly on SBS 2003 and the necessary certificate properly loaded on a Windows Mobile device, the device may still be unable to sync properly.

You may see sync failure messages with an error code of 0×85010004 and the message Your Account does not have permissions to sync with your current settings. Contact your Microsoft Exchange administrator on the device.

Susan Bradley mentioned this exact error code a while back, with a link to an MS KB article, which mentions a hotfix. However, that article discusses this error showing with Exchange Server 2003 loaded on Windows Server 2000.

Obviously, that kind of setup isn’t on-point for SBS 2003 at all…
