that’s right kiddos…
as part of the preparation for the upcoming techmixer 2.0 in birmingham this month…
yours truly whipped up a quick logo which i think better reflects our user group’s intent & purpose.
without further ado…

if you’d like the recipe, here you go…
ingredients:
1 copy of adobe photoshop elements 3.0 (legal)
1 piece of royalty-free clipart from office.microsoft.com
preparation: preheat brain for 8000 hours until getting to proper temperature of epiphany degrees. spread clipart piece to desired size using elements as a rolling pin. modify colors to taste. serve hot.
serves: a potentially unlimited number of people, world-wide
it’s not perfect, as i’d like a few key color modification & some cleanup that is beyond my skils.
i’d really appreciate some feedback on what you think about this logo, so please please please leave a comment about what you think.
i’m hoping that geckzilla, vlad’s graphics wunderkind, will take pity on me & spread some of her amazing magic potion on this thing.
of course…
haven’t even been introduced to her, so that’s prolly a pipe dream.
maybe i can hook up with one of the other groups that will be at techmixer 2.0.
remember…it’s all about community & ecosystem, right?

Hey Chris, I see you made it back home in one piece. Nice job on the artwork. It actually reminds me of some GIANT mosaics that we have in our art deco Union Terminal Train Station that is now our history museum.

i’ve spent a lot of time over the years in the queen city. union terminal is amazing. i haven’t been there in easily 20 years, but i still remember what a beautiful example of art deco it is, both inside & out.
the artwork is a piece of clipart from microsoft’s office site. i couldn’t draw my way out of a wet paper bag. but it is very close to what i had envisioned for our group’s new logo.
