look different

ok, so mothership should get some kudos for trying to think outside, well…the box, as it were, when it came to the form factor of windows home server.

i still think the concept design comes off too much like a really big coaster, tho.

wanna make it different?

at least house this thing in something that doesn’t totally scream…

i was all set to be a contestant on beauty & the geek, but when i demanded that i appear at all times in full klingon battle armor, they cut me!

it's michael bolton...as a klingon!

that’s right kiddos, i said it.

this thing will sell to wireheads & maybe some family members. that’s about it.

i’m thinking mothership needs to check their canaries…& fast!

at the very least, why not put home server in something unexpected…like…

beware...the lahvah!

or…better yet…

and they swam & they swam...all over the ram!

heck, people have been doing fake aquarium case mods for a while.

instead, imagine it with an embedded lcd screen. once that fishy screen saver kicked in…no one would be any the wiser.

but even if they do something crazy awesome with the form factor, i still have one question…

where’s the offsite backup for home server, in case su casa goes up in flames?

this is not my beautiful house

honestly, gathering & storing everything in one spot is great…

but it does create a big huge single point of failure.
