@ Batouhan...

Sorry man, wasn't trying to accuse you. When you said "some," ut made me thing of well...ROMs from somewhere.

Been posting and speaking on the pirate ROM issue a LOT lately. Kinda have it on the brain.

As for using them in emulator, same thing as I said before. Only the MS supplied images will work with it.

@ Batouhan...

You can't. Device Emulator doesn't run any images other than the ones MS releases for it.

And if those are pirate ROMs, keep in mind you are breaking copyright law.

@ shawn...

Wow...welcome to last year, man.

BTW, extracting pieces violates MS' EULA in a big big way. They consider that reverse-engineering. Yes, I know...crazy. But that's why I didn't outline that method

For those of us who didn't just wake up from a coma, there's an even easier way than any of this. Namely, all you have to do is load the standalone Device Emulator Windows Mobile 6 images, which were released in May of last year: http://www.chrisrue.com/funcave/2007/05/wm6-standalone-emulator-images-available-now.html

There is a much less resource intensive way. you can open the msi files in an extractor and jsut remove the ones you need and just use a bat to launch them

Chris,

I happen to have a copy of Visual Studio 2005 Standard. In that case would it be easier for me to install VS 2005 and download the WM 6.0 SDK and extract the WM 6.0 emulator images somehow using VS 2005, or, is it, in fact, still easier to use the method that you specify at your www site?

Best Regards
