Without a doubt, the biggest news of MIX07 was the unveiling of Silverlight AKA Windows Presentation Framework.
Well get ready for some shakin’ & bakin’, cuz it’s coming to Windows Mobile as well.
Quite frankly, I could give a rat’s patoot about MLB, but imagine the possibilities for something like motorsports.
Oh yeah!

Unable to get yourself to MIX07?
Don’t fret too much. You can at the very least check out the session video archive FOC.
Truth be told tho…I find it much easier to use the feed, rather than the site navigation interface.

UPDATE: The official WM6 upgrade for the Dash is available NOW at the T-Mobile link below.
For anyone who was too nervous to grab the leaked version, the official Windows Mobile 6 upgrade for the Dash will be available later today, directly from T-Mobile.

Before starting the mind probe with your Dash, be SURE to backup all the data on your device, since every bit of it will get vaporized when the update-o-tron does its thing.
Fact of matter, there’s a particular sequence of steps the robot horde is programmed to follow over at the Funboard when applying ROM updates, to reduce the possibility of bricking devices. So far, they haven’t lost one yet.
The actual update itself isn’t necessarily an issue, but ActiveSync compatibility can throw a bit of a wrench into this one.
Here’s a short list of some of the WM6 goodness you can expect to see after upgrading:
- Operating system upgrade to Windows Mobile 6, including features such as:
- Receive, compose, and send e-mails in full HTML.
- Easier downloading of e-mail attachments and images.
- Improved e-mail filtering and search.
- Access to Windows Live services.
-
Improvements to volume controls:
-
Ability to dial by number by pressing alt+letter for each letter in the phone number.
-
Voice Command software, allowing not only easy voice dialing but also control of applications and messages. Please refer to the User Manual for details.
-
Pocket Office, allowing editing of Microsoft Word and Excel documents from the device.
I know Eric will be glad to see T-Mobile included Voice Command in their OEM image.
Happy flashing everybody!

It took me exactly .005 seconds to click the link over at Bitzie’s place to take this Star Wars personality quiz.
Not surprisingly…

But I wonder…
Doesn’t the mere fact of taking an online personality quiz based on Star Wars pretty much pigeonhole someone’s personality as that of a hopeless dweeb, not some ruthlessly kickass intergalactic bounty hunter?
Damn…

Acer’s all set to release a Ferrari-themed Pocket PC in July. I guess it’s so all the toolistically-challenged executives won’t have to risk someone discovering their shortcoming whilst they are forced to spend time outside of their wheeled reality-distortion-field.

In keeping with the sheer cheese factor, this beast runs…

Windows Mobile 2003 SE
Woohoo! Welcome to 4 years ago!
But hey…at least it comes with a choice of 2 paint schemes!

Anyone know if they offer a Joey Tribbiani “bracelet buddy” gold chain to go with?
