I’m Next-Gen!
On Thursday morning of this week, I took a sunrise trip to Birmingham and kicked the ass of the 70–500 exam, one of the next-generation Microsoft certification exams.
Passing this exam, titled TS: Microsoft Windows Mobile Designing, Implementing, and Managing, supposedly qualifies me as an MCTS.
Thing is, I’m not sure exactly what that means.
As in, what should I expect?

OK…now don’t forget. Welcome Kits aren’t sent automatically anymore. You have to go request it be sent via the MCP member site. I did that, so I’m good to go. I also saw this:

Since 70–500 went live in late February 2007, I guess I’m a Charter Member as well.
Woohoo!
I guess that and $1.8K will get me into Worldwide Partner Conference, huh?
Looks like the welcome kit will have an official certificate (suitable for framing or wrapping fish), a new wallet card, and a congratulatory form letter, at minimum. The Charter Member kits have a different letter and different certificate. Quite frankly, the welcome kit isn’t ever on my list of reasons why I take any given exam.
But this item sure caught my attention…
