The Unknown MVP

Well, it’s official…

OK...so who are you, again?

I was actually made an MVP in April of this year by Microsoft, in the product category of Small Business Server.

It’s a long story, but I simply never received the news. At least not until the eagle-eye of one Ms. Susan Elise Bradley happened to notice an old e-mail address of mine, which was tied to a former employer, on a broadcast e-mail.

A quick flurry of e-mails ensued, paths were cleared, and all was resolved.

I’m truly honored by this, especially because of the MVP award’s simultaneous focus on both technical excellence and community-building.

Most of all, I’m thankful for all of the people over the last 2 years who:

  • Stopped by here at the Funcave or over at the Funboard.
  • Took time to hear me present, either in-person or via LiveMeeting.
  • Joined Alabama SMB.
  • Listened to SBS Show, especially in its earliest, fledgling days.
  • Gave me a kind word, or a kick in the tail, that I sorely needed.

So thanks everybody.

  4. @ Vijay & Mark:

Thanks guys. I really appreciate it.

    @ HandyAndy:

Redid the graphic. I figure if I’m gonna violate the logo, I might as well use the full color version. :)

  5. That’s the best news I’ve heard all week. Congratulations dude!! I know you’ve helped me personally and our group in KY, and countless others around the globe. You single-handedly kick-started my interest in Windows Mobile. And, as always, you rock!

  7. [...] Back in April one of my favorite presenters was made an MVP for SBS and no one ever heard about it. Turns out MS had an obsolete address for him so not even he knew, the announcement message went to the proverbial bit bucket. Well due to the keen eye of the SBS Diva herself all has been rectified, so please help me welcome Chris Rue https://mvp.support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/profile=75ea8010-5d0e-453d-8b63-ee53da3ddadc check out his own announcement at http://www.chrisrue.com/funcave/2007/06/the-unknown-mvp.html [...]
