I can feel your pain with building and helping the community to develop. It is a hard unappreciated job in general.
My own story sounds similar to what you do and have gone through, just unfortunately I have not had the same success as yourself. 
I will agree with you on some of the other points that you have made, the SMB market is full of those that suffer from the Copernicus Syndrome, that expect the world to deliver them a viable business or community with little effort on their part. So I would actually appreciate your help in breaking some of these boundaries down in my own community, by hearing how you have been successful. How would you help others to see the value of supporting the community? And to become active in it? How have you helped cure those within your community that suffer from the Copernicus Syndrome? Some people just et it, others never will.</description>
