No Diploma Required

Thanks to an amazing technicolor dream trackback, I found yet another Worthless Web Widget, which I had to immediately add to my growing collection…

blog readability test

Which proves what I’ve always said…

No diploma required, here at the Funcave. Excelsior!

DUKE NUKEM FOREVER HAS SHIPPED!

Sorry babe...no time to play. I got some BlackJackin' ta do!

In an amazing turn of events, a long-awaited piece of software that some said would never be released has finally seen the light of day.

Oh wait…sorry.

It wasn’t Duke that got loosed today.

Rather, the Windows Mobile 6 upgrade for the BlackJack, which I guess  would now more correctly be called the BlackJack I, has finally dropped.

As with all the WM6 upgrades, watch the fine print. The install instrux are only slightly less complicated than assembling a fusion reactor.

Vista users are left out in the cold too. The updater tool will not work on Vista at all. Even on a supported OS, ActiveSync needs to be version 4.2 or greater.

Strangely enough, tho…two common limitations with other Windows Mobile 6 upgrades are nowhere in sight. With other WM6 updates, you only get one shot to download. The BlackJack upgrade doesn’t have any such restrictions. And there’s no end date posted for the availability of the BlackJack WM6 update, unlike all the others.

Just like all the others tho, once WM6 gets on the device, there’s no such thing as a downgrade back to Windows Mobile 5.

Bill Clinton Doesn’t Care About Black People

Or maybe it’s just MLK he’s bored with…

Not a good day for The Bill & The Hill.

Obama-o-rama will have a field day with this.

It could have been worse, I guess. There could have been an intern nearby.

Personally, I tend to agree with this guy.

How Mike Huckabee Just Got My Vote

Chuckabee. A politician from Arkansas I can talk about without throwing up.

The Funcave is not a political blog at all. Nor do I intend it to become one. So post away, but there won’t be anything else posted at the Funcave about the upcoming election.

But I will tell you that Mike Huckabee has my vote. Totally and unequivocally. You wanna know how he got it?

Something dead freaking simple.

He offers me something that I have wanted totally and unequivocally for a long time.

Which is a definitive stance regarding illegal immigration as both illegal and unwanted, since I believe illegal immigration is the single greatest threat the U.S. faces.

In all honesty, I think it is crazy that simply because a baby is born on U.S. soil, it is automatically granted U.S. citizenship. Does any other country in the world take this kind of stance?

In my view, any baby born must have at least one parent who is a U.S. citizen to earn citizenship at birth. Otherwise, if you want to become a U.S. citizen, then you have to immigrate the legal way.

Is our immigration process horribly broken? Without a doubt. If you’ve ever known anyone who has gone through it, you’d know exactly what I am talking about. And he has discussed a plan to overhaul that process, which is really the root cause of this whole problem.

But just because our immigration system has flaws, there is absolutely NO REASON to grant a free pass to millions of people who have broken the law getting into this country and use public resources without helping fund them whatsoever.

And to add a bit more fuel to this fire…

U.S. citizenship should require fluency in English. If you can speak another language too, that’s fine. But if you can’t speak English, no badge from Uncle Sam.

All that aside, Huckabee just earned my business AKA my vote because he recognized a big huge concern I have had for a long time, and offered a definitive solution.

That’s Business 101, folks. I’m shocked a politician gets that.

And besides, you should already know that Chuck Norris decides all U.S. elections.

Now THAT’S the kind of badass that really matters!

The Biggest Problem With Windows

The most brilliant clandestine guerilla marketing tactic EVER in the history of the computer industry. This is the front window at an Apple store. Can't you just smell the opportunity, and geniusii, inside? Ostensibly, this is supposed to be a display for an Apple Hi-Fi display or something or other. But I think it's a subliminal slap at Redmond's baby. As in...Windows = Broken. How freaking BRILLIANT is that?

I’ve been thinking about this for a while, and I’d like to get some confirmation on this. So post up your thoughts. Don’t be shy.

Windows has a big problem.

No, it isn’t Vista.

No, it isn’t Apple.

No, it isn’t Linux.

I think that Windows biggest problem is…Windows.

Or more specifically, windows.

Even in this Amazing Technicolor Dream World of 24” widescreen UWXVGA+++ screens x 2…

I still find myself spending an inordinate amount of time shuffling layer upon layer of windows!

It disgusts me the sheer amount of time I literally waste in a given week moving/resizing/minimizing/maximizing windows.

But I have an idea. A pretty good idea I think. About a way to totally and completely erdicate that. Well, at least knock it down by roughly 95%.

So I guess this is my first big huge massive vaporware announcement.

If you want to beta-test this when it reaches that stage (sorry, no timeline yet), then post a comment or shoot an e-mail to truckfullofninjas AT chrisrue.com. I can’t guarantee everyone a spot, but I’ll do the best I can to get every one in who wants in.

And in case you just missed it right there…

TruckFullOfNinjas = the official codename.

Just wait’ll you see THAT t-shirt!
