Device Emulator 3 For You And Me

Chameleons rock! As does Device Emulator. Not quite as much as chameleons, but pretty close!

The newest standalone version of Device Emulator was released on January 21st from those crazy kids what live and work in Redmond.

Version 3.0 adds a couple of seriously kickass functions, namely…

  • Device emulator configuration files
  • An automation API for DEmuMan (IDeviceEmulatorManager)

Also, 64–bit junkies will be glad to know there’s a full-on 64–bit release of DEmu available on the download page.

Like previous versions of DEmu, Device Emulator version 3.0 was first seen in the current version of Visual Studio. That would be 2008, released in late November of 2007.

Thanks to the awesome new features in v3, I’ll be updating the DEmu series over the next week or so. This series update will definitely be worth a look, even if you saw previous iterations. With all the releases and options for DEmu, it can be downright confusing how to best get everything loaded, especially for newcomers.

I’m just wondering how I missed the release of DEmu 3 for the last 3 weeks?

January 21, January 21…ohhhh right.

That little thing called E-Cycling Day.
