Forgive – well that’s debatable; you’re supposed to if you’re a Christian; modern pyschology tells us that it’s also good for our mental health to forgive.
Forget – no; a strong reminder each year should help us remember where we’re at, where we’re heading and how we treat people along the way.
Never Again – highly debatable; it requires some radical changes to the way the developed world deals with the developing world, its approach to foreign policies and attitude to global resource utilisation.
But this is all just rhetoric from someone who watched it unfold on live TV and didn’t lose friends or family, just the raw emotion of witnessing such a devastating act. If I’ve upset anyone with my comments I apologise. We need to temper emotional response with rational response if we expect different outcomes.
