Don’t ask me how Elisabeth Vanderveldt’s name keeps getting picked up by celebrity gossip aggregators.

I’m thinking Nick & I were darn lucky that neither of us had to punch out any stalkerazzi at MVP Summit.
Oh well…there’s always next year for socking some scumbags!

And when talking about marketing debacles from Redmond…
Being the worst is actually an accomplishment, of sorts.

This coming Friday and Saturday, the awesomeness that is BarCampBirmingham returns to the Magic City.
Let me be perfectly clear about my feeling on this…
If you are within striking distance of Birmingham, you would be an absolute fool to miss this for anything less than being in a full-body cast.
I can say that because, well…I missed it last year, and have been kicking myself ever since.
Just like the 1.0 version, the list of BarCamp attendees has been growing by leaps and bounds.
I’ll be offering to give a demo of mobile device emulation.
And I’ll tell you this, just from looking over the list of folks…
There are at least half a dozen people signed up that I plan to make a point to meet for business purposes.
But you gotta be there to get your own mugful of the steaming hot learn we’ll be serving up all day.
Hope to see you there!

After the Hello Kitty video finally posted, I got a couple messages from sharp-eyed folks asking what a Shonen Knife was, since it was listed in the credits.
First off, Shonen Knife isn’t a what, it’s a who. More specifically, a rock band.
The best way to describe Shonen Knife is to say they are basically The Ramones, if The Ramones were 3 Japanese chicks who sang about candy, cats, and basically made pop music awesome again.
They are one of 3 groups I would actually go see in concert…the other 2 being Smashing Pumpkins and White Stripes.
I’m starting the petition now…
SHONEN KNIFE SHOULD PLAY WORLD WIDE PARTNER CONFERENCE!
Big huge thanks to R. AKA Jerk With A Camera for the gracious usage of his totally kickass pic of Shonen Knife from a concert last December.
